Polystone, Polyurethane, and the Accessories
The body of this classic historical statue is made from polystone. It is a cast or spray solid surface material. Its surfacing can enhance almost any exterior with stunning texture and colors. It achieves a beautiful granite-like appearance. This material is versatile due to its diversity of uses and durability.
Polystone is free of hazardous additives and pigments. This is because it’s infused with raw materials. Its granules consist of polyester compounds that incorporate pure alumina trihydrates. This is also UV, fire, stain, and chemical resistant.
As for PU or polyurethane, it is a composite material made of one or more layers of PU. It also includes a textile backing like bi-cast or ground leather. This specific material gives you the most realistic imitation of leather.
When you receive this piece, included is a dedicated black storage box, and replica spear. It also comes with a nameplate with an inscription Siege of Osaka – Yukimura Sanada.
The Siege of Osakas – Sanadas Bravery
Sanada Yukimura was a warrior of strong justice. He stayed true to his own beliefs and so did his loyalty to the Western Army and Toyotomi Hideyoshi. At the Osaka unit, he fought excellently against the Tokugawa army and became known due to his skills.
On the 3rd of June 1615, at the Battle of Domyoji, Sanada Yukimura commanded the Osaka Army on the right wing. He engaged in battle with the Date forces in the area of Emperor Ojin’s tomb and Konda Hachiman’s shrine. The fight took place for about five hours before Yukimura decided to retreat to Osaka castle.
As he and his troops hurried back to Osaka castle, Sanada found a huge Tokugawa force of about 150,000 troops. They moved into position to make the final attack on the castle. As they did, Hideyoshi charged and forced a last attack of offense on the Tokugawa troops. This was in the hopes of taking the off-guard during formations.
Yukimura and his unit charged down from Chausuyama then battled with the enemy. As the line started crumbling, Tokugawa rushed his personal troops for support. Here, Sanada saw the chance to smash through the center.
The spot where Sanada Yukimura fell is in Yasui Shrine to the west Shitennoji Temple, Osaka. His grave is located in Zenmyosho-in in Ueda.
Production Background
Kensin continues to preserve the skills of authentic armor production. Researching and producing figurines of warriors from the Sengoku period is also ongoing.
Since 1999, Kensin focused on reproducing figurines of famous warriors like Sanada Yukimura. Works have been created with the help of Miura Hiromichi. He was commissioned to study and research about the ancient Samurai armor. His search allowed the recreation of this piece that is identical to Yukimuras real armor.
