Ii Naomasa
This warrior was a general under Tokugawa Ieyasu. Regarded as one of Tokugawa’s Four Guardians, this was all due to his skills and bravery. He went together with Honda Tadakatsu, Sakai Tadatsugu, & Sakakibara Yasumasa.
Like Tokugawa’s family, his family were retainers of the Imagawa clan. Yet due to the death of the clan’s leader in the Battle of Okehazama, chaos and confusion ensued. This was the time when Naomasa’s father was convicted of treason then killed. He was lucky to have escaped as a small child and was later taken in by Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Ii Naomasa had a nickname as a warrior, it was the Red Demon. This is because of him being a historic figure and one of the Guardians of Tokugawa Ieyasu. He became the Red Demon mainly because of his blood red samurai armor. This was also due to his habit of killing individuals because of mistakes.
Naomasa was also said to be very violent in battles. He would usually break the formation and rush into battle, not being present to command his troops. Yet he received harsh wounds in the battle where he was most remembered. Unfortunately, this also led to his premature death.
