Oda Nobunaga Riding his Horse
This antique-like figurine features the warlord Oda Nobunaga and his valor and braveness. The figure depicts the event when he and his army won in the Battle of Nagashino. On the right side of his horse is the Tanegashima. This is a matchlock gun that Nobunaga used due to its power.
He had taken advantage of this weapons effectiveness. He was also the earliest warlord to own an array of these. The base of this figurine reproduces stone walls that are of different sizes.
Each part of the pieces, from the fine parts to the armor pieces, were perfectly copied. Every portion of the figure was replicated to perfect the image of the warlord.
The modeling workshop of Kensin Co. Ltd. was established in 1997. It was popular for their professional three-dimensional modeling and crafting.

Dimensions and Accessories of the Equestrian Statue of Oda Nobunaga
The dimensions of the statue is 130 × 105 × 200 millimeters (W x D x H). It has a weight of approximately 600 grams.
For its accessories, these include a dedicated storage box. It helps keep the figurine protected if it needs to be stored for some time. It also has a black stand-up bill inscribed with “Battle of Nagashino” and “Oda Nobunaga.
Materials Used for the Equestrian Statue
As mentioned, this art piece has a body crafted of polystone. It is a mix of ground stone and synthetic material. It is a durable element and effective in keeping a nice, sharp finish. Compared to porcelain, polystone is a cold-cast material, so no heat is used in its manufacturing.
This results in better variations when it comes to paint finish. It is easy to carve, feels like stone, yet is cheaper than stone for manufacture.
The Battle of Nagashino
The Battle of Nagashino occured in the year 1575. It was near Nagashino castle in the Mikawa province. During the battle, Takeda Katsuyori attacked the Tokugawa. In the process, they discovered the capital of Mikawa.
Yet Nobunagas skilled use of the firearms to defeat Takeda was exceptional. It was even cited as a turning point in the country’s warfare. This was called the first modern battle in Japan.

At that time, claims state that Nobunaga adopted the Southwestern-born culture. As depicted in the figurine, he wore a Nanban helmet, Western armor, and a missionary-styled velvet cloak. Moreover, Nobunaga used a large number of guns for the first time in the Battle of Nagashino.
The Nanban Armor was brought by the foreign merchants who went in and out of Japan. The armor included a helmet and torso armor, combined with a Japanese slide chain liner.
